OUR STORY

Growing up in government subsidized housing tends to carry a negative connotation with it. Attending school at a young age, I remember being asked where I lived. I told the individual about the area where I lived and the street name and they immediately said "Oh, you live in the projects". After that event, I noticed that whenever projects were mentioned, the sentiment was often negative. Later in my youth, my family moved to a small town in a southern state, with our new residence being a government subsidized duplex. Again I explained to my new acquaintances where I lived and the street and they immediately said "Oh, you live in the projects".I thought to myself, this duplex did not resemble my former housing at all but it still carried the same negative sentiments. At such a young age, I could not understand the negativity associated with "the projects ", afterall, the projects was my home, a place full of family, friends, and love. Although it was not perfect, it was still mine. With that being said, my affiliates and I have made it our mission to redefine, restructure, and reform the negative connotation associated with projects. We begin by introducing this clothing line that expresses the ideology of embracing your journey. /Prajek(t)z/, The clothing line that embodies where you are from as well as where you are going.
